Wow, I cannot tell you how much fun I had illustrating this cover for Zenescope's Little Mermaid collection coming out Sept. 23rd. Zenescope is known for taking everyone's beloved fairy tales and turning them into their worst nightmares... this story is no exception. I have wanted to illustrate some sort of woman-octopus for a while now, and when this opportunity presented itself, I couldn't say no.

Those tentacles look fantastic! How did you do them?
Believe it or not I went a purchased a real octopus (dead of course) from the local sea food market for photo reference! That and a combination of some hand done and digital work.
